Fees: The processing fee is a cost-recovery measure that helps cover the expenses involved in making donor milk safe and accessible. This includes donor screening, pathology testing, cold freight, pasteurisation, microbiological testing, cold storage, and staffing. These essential steps ensure the milk is safe for the most vulnerable babies.

As human milk is a biological product, it requires multiple stages of testing, processing, and quality assurance before it can be dispensed. Because of this, we are unable to guarantee immediate availability of PDHM. We encourage families to place orders as early as possible where appropriate. While we work to fulfil all requests as quickly as we can, timelines may vary depending on donor volume, testing turnaround times, and current demand.

Mothers Milk Bank relies on private donations. A sliding-scale Medical Relief Fund is available to help ensure that processing fees do not prevent families from accessing the support they need.
